I thought it was an enjoyable movie. [This message has been edited by Shelly (edited 06-04-2001).] Heath Ledger is babe (Serion de Burci is a female, just for the record.....) and an amazing actor and I love seeing him in period pieces. Mark Addy plays Roland one of his sidekicks is amazing too. Does anyone know the name of the actor who played de Colleville (Prince Edward)? Serion de Burci P.S. Anyone who was thoroughly disgusted with his movie should lighten up and appreciate the skill of the actors and director who made this off the wall, medieval/modern music movie work against all odds! Sadly, there are not a lot of "castles" shown in it. Ah well, at least they have a bunch of lances shattering all over the place.Shelly No doubt I will be branded as a heretic, but I liked "A Knight's Tale". I confess I have seen the movie and have enjoyed it, even though it is not medieval in the usual sense. Do I offend, and did I commit blasphemy against that which is truely medieval? Lili Hi Shelly. I love and follow medieval movies in all senses of the word but haven't heard of this one. Can you give me the details? Eg. Who does it star, when was it made? Ta Shelly William, who is a commoner has always dreamed about being a knight. He takes the opportunity to become one with the help of Chaucer and a forged noble ancestry. According to the movie this is where Chaucer gets his The Knight's Tale story idea from. He enters the jousts to the sound track of such bands as Queen, and BTO, ect. There is of course the competion(lots of jousting)for the hand of the fair Lady Jocelyn between Ulric-The good guy and Count Adhemar-The bad guy. It was made this year and it stars Heath Ledger (William Thatcher or as he claims, Sir Ulrich von Liechtenstein of Gelderland),Rufus Sewell as Count Adhemar and Shannyn Sossamon as Jocelyn. penelope For me it was a great night out with my daughter. If I wanted accuracy, I would have read a book, but this was pure fantasy a parody on the times and the sport. Besides the chance to tease my daughter about Heath Ledger was worth it. I just hope the kids who will be watching are intelligent enough to know that Queen hasn't been around that long. Serion de Burci I enjoyed A Knight's Tale better the second time around. Even though it was advertised as not being historically accurate, I still had certain expectations the first time. Seeing it a second time I allowed myself to enjoy it more! Visit; Gordon's Scottish Castles Resource Page Radella Oh lord, Heath LEdger is soooo hot! deborahknowles I have just seen it for the third time and hope to go again next week. It's FABAROONI!! Heath Ledger is just gorgeous (ok so I'm twice his age - nearly!)Alright it's not historically accurate but WHO CARES? It feels right. We Will Rock You is perfect for the opening scenes and captured the sort of atmoshere one would have experienced at a joust in its "golden age". Just in case you're wondering, I write serious (or at least historically accurate)novels, so I'm not just a silly girl with a flower. wanwen_scheong Hi I'm new here.In answer to your question, I heard from friends that it's pretty good. avesaves You should see this Movie on DVD with all channels firing. Jousting to Queen - What a concept! Steve-O-Gerst Coleville, AKA the Black Prince was played by James Purefoy. If you have the DVD, play it with the commentary going some time. Apparently, this guy was trying to score a job as the next James bond, so they make all these 007 jokes whenever he comes on. Laugh riot! horsechic123 I LOVED A Knight's Tale. It was one of my favorite movies, I don't know why though. I guess just because I love all medieval stuff, I went to a jousting dinner show once, that was really fun. Steve-O-Gerst MMM, Medieval Times? I went there once for a birthday party centuries ago. It was great fun! A little Dungeons And Dragons for my taste, but still great.
